Tips: Selling Your Home During The COVID Crisis

For most home sellers, the Spring is generally when they hope to list and then sell their home. It is traditionally the highest volume season we have in the United States.  And the vast majority of homes get listed and go under contract during this time.  However, for many, this Spring came with many unprecedented hurdles due to the COVID-19 crisis.  It brought global markets and economies to a stand still.  In some states, real estate was impacted equally.  In states like Arizona, however, real estate was quickly deemed and essential business and real estate related and supporting businesses were part of that group.  Problem solved, right?

Unfortunately, simply deeming real estate an essential service was not enough to maintain the status quo.  Showings of currently listed homes dropped significantly and low inventory went lower when many homes went off the market (temporarily or cancelled their listings) as a result.  So even though traffic was down, inventory went a little “dark” and remained low.  It has left many home sellers wondering,

  • What now?
  • Is it still a good time to sell?
  • Will my home drop in value?
  • Is it safe to list and show my home right now?
  • What if I don’t want people going through my house who might be sick?
  • What can I do to make sure my home is ready to list?

It’s Still A Seller’s Market For Most of AZ

Thankfully, I have good news for home sellers! Things are still in your favor and it is STILL A SELLERS MARKET in most areas and most price ranges in Scottsdale, Phoenix, Cave Creek, and Carefree.  Even in most of the high end and luxury real estate markets or are still at historically better positions than any time in the last decade (as of 4/14/2020).
